Way back in the old testament, a man named Moses had a special relationship with God. God spoke to Moses in an audible voice. Hearing a voice and seeing no one made Moses very curious, and he asked to see the face of God. God reminded Moses that such a thing would kill him! But, because of their special relationship, God made a way for Moses to get just a quick glimpse of God's glory. You can read about it in the thirty third chapter of Exodus. I think it's so neat that God went to so much bother to satisfy Moses' curiosity. But still more impressive is the way God has provided for us today. Jesus is our way to see God and live. You can read all about it in the four gospels. How do you see Jesus? Some see him as a baby lying in a manger, but we must not linger too long at the manger, for the story doesn't end there. Some see him as a miracle worker by the shores of Galilee, but we must not linger too long by the shores of Galilee, for the story doesn't end there. Some see him hanging on a cross, paying the penalty for their sins, but we must not linger too long at the cross, for the story doesn't end there. Some see him risen from the dead, but we must not linger too long at the empty tomb, for the story doesn't end there. People tend to tell you that Jesus is the son of God. The problem is that we tend to compare the heavenly family to the earthly family, and forget that in the earthly family , the son increases as the father decreases, and this pleases the father. Could it be that after two thousand years the son, Jesus, has become equal with the father, God?
If we look in the Bible we find that God has given unto Jesus
a name above all other names, which includes his own, and furthermore
states that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow. The pathetic
thing is that for some it will be too late. But for us it is not
too late, for while there is life, there is time. |
